Champions Clashed, Reigns won a belt, Chris Jericho stole the show... This was the tale of Raw's first post-brand extension PPV, which (somewhat inevitably) was not as widely appreciated as Backlash two weeks ago. There's no pleasing everyone, no matter how impressive the in-ring work.

Meanwhile, there was news that the Royal Rumble is going back to the Alamodome in San Antonio, there was more talk of the Hardy Boyz both returning to WWE, and further hints that Meekman might well still be interesting in buying TNA out from under them anyway.

Elsewhere, both Kevin Owens and Bobby Lashley declared they want to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, Paige announced she's having neck surgery and Chris Jericho might not be leaving in November as initially expected. That at least is good news.

And through it all superstars old and new shared their selfies and work-out shots on social media, including an MVP cameo by Scott Hall of all people.

This was the week in WWE Instagram...

25. And The New...

He might not be the most popular champion, but even the biggest cynics surely can't argue that having Reigns in the US Championship picture is good for business and good for the fans.

Not only does it take him away from other belts, it also elevates the US Championship higher. And that's no bad thing on either front.
