Roman Reigns ruins the Rumble...

I thought the Royal Rumble was a really solid night of wrestling up until the main event itself where the night proceeded to fall apart.

Charlotte vs. Bayley, although feeling a tad rushed, proved a fun opener that signalled better things to come; Reigns vs. Owens was a hard hitting affair that included arguably the most brutal fall seen on a WWE show in some time as the Universal Champion crashed though a pyramid of tables from the second turnbuckle; while AJ Styles and John Cena stole the show with the type of match we've come to expect from the pair. If he hadn't done so already, Big Match John certainly proved he is worthy of carrying such a nickname.

Oh, and as for the Cruiserweights, you'd have to admit the right man won as Neville got the better of a valiant Rich Swann. Hopefully, the other King from Newcastle will be able to spearhead a rejuvenation in the purple ranks.

The reasons for the implosion of the card will be covered in more depth as this article wears on as a couple of booking calls soured the taste in the mouths of the onlooking WWE Universe - and not just the 'smarky' portion either...

28. Put Some Effort Into It!

When I first got into wrestling every single pay-per-view had its own unique staging area. While the need for something different on every show in 2017 isn't necessary due to the endless amount of LED screens used at the top of the walk way, I certainly think the Royal Rumble, one of WWE's fabled 'big four', should have a Titantron that is noticeably better that the ones we see every Monday and Tuesday.

If the lack of a special entrance way for the Rumble ground your gears to a standstill, the realisation WWE wheeled out the RAW staging area for a dual-branded show will have surely seen you blow your bonnet, or something more appropriately car related. I know there was more red brand matches on the Rumble's card, but this wasn't a RAW exclusive show. SmackDown deserves more of the metaphorical pie.
