With three weeks to go until Cruiserweight action comes to Raw, WWE has announced three more participants for the returning division: Cedric Alexander, Johnny Gargano, and Tommaso Ciampa.

Alexander, a longtime Ring of Honor star, left the company in May amidst rumors that he would be participating in the Cruiserweight Classic and joining WWE full-time. He has been working regularly for EVOLVE in recent months, competing in "Cruiserweight Classic Showcase" matches against the likes of Gargano and Zack Sabre, Jr. He recently lost his second-round CWC match to Kota Ibushi, a bout that's been praised as the best in the tournament.

Both Gargano and Ciampa were independent standouts for years, with Gargano the centerpiece of the WWN family of promotions. The two men arrived in NXT as a tag team last year, though they've continued to work independent shows since then. Gargano is currently scheduled to finish with EVOLVE on September 11, and Ciampa will presumably stop taking non-WWE bookings as well. Gargano beat Ciampa in the first round of the Cruiserweight Classic, but lost to T.J. Perkins in his second-round match.

The Cruiserweight Classic will conclude with a live two-hour special on Wednesday, September 14, five days before the division arrives on Raw.
