Instagram Best Of 2016

When wrestling fans look back at 2016 with the benefit of distance and through the sweet fog of nostalgia, it might well be remembered as a watershed moment for pro wrestling. It saw the rise of the Women's Division, the successful introduction of new titles and another brand split and the company made strides into extending their legacy in a way that should impact their future in a tangible way.

But who really cares about all that when you can look back at what the superstars posted on their social media feeds: thanks to the comparative lack of censorship, Twitter is a minefield where emotional stars can offer immediate, hair-trigger responses before hastily deleting before they get in trouble. Instagram is a relatively safer environment, but even there we see breakdowns, revelations and tantrums in among the selfies, bikini shots and workout porn. It's a hell of a time to be alive.

So with this column having been going for a year now (imagine!), we have a whole year of insightful, revealing snaps from the biggest stars of pro wrestling, and the best really need to be revisited once more.

This was last year in WWE Instagram...

30. Tacky Jericho

So much for the end of the Attitude Era - Chris Jericho showed how game he was to mix it with the old, more extreme ways by rolling around in some thumb tacks for a laugh.

That face couldn't say "I deeply regret this decision" any more precisely. Still, hell of a show he put on.
