4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 28)

A strong night for tag team wrestling and some lazy booking too.

This week's Smackdown was the last show before Sunday's Elimination Chamber. With the card fully set and only six matches to promote, there really wasn't that much done on Smackdown to advance the storylines. Like usual, there was no John Cena on this week's show although is Elimination Chamber opponent Kevin Owens made his fast Smackdown appearance to talk about their match. The positive with this week's Smackdown was that there were three matches that received over 10 minutes of in-ring action. Some weeks we might only see one match get that much time while they fill the rest of the show with short matches, so it's refreshing to see three matches get more time. There was a big negative in that Rusev suffered a legitimate ankle injury during his match with Ryback. Give him a lot of credit for working through it because it was obvious he was in a lot of pain, yet he kept on going. He's questionable for Sunday's Elimination Chamber event because of the injury and when he flew home on Wednesday he was in a wheelchair at the airport because he couldn't put a lot of weight on the ankle. Here are the results of the matches on this week's show. Lucha Dragons d. Kidd & Cesaro in a Lumberjack Match R-Truth d. King Barrett Ryback d. Rusev by disqualification Paige d. Naomi Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose d. Seth Rollins & Kane by disqualification
