5 Indie Wrestling Feuds That Carried Over Into WWE

3. Kevin Owens Vs. Seth Rollins (ROH)

In companies like IWA Mid-South and Ring Of Honor, Kevin Steen and Tyler Black had several matches. Most notably, the pair clashed for the ROH World Title at the Salvation event in July, 2010.

That was set up by an excellent angle on ROH television, during which Steen hit a Package Piledriver on Black to effectively challenge for the title.

Both have been able to make a splash in WWE, as Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins respectively. There's a good chance that big matches between the pair are yet to come on TV and pay-per-view when Rollins makes his return from injury, but they have still clashed numerous times away from the cameras.

During WWE's live event tour in the lead up to SummerSlam 2015, Rollins defended the WWE World Heavyweight Title in Triple Threat bouts against Owens and Dean Ambrose. In addition to that, the pair have even teamed together on house shows against Cesaro and John Cena.

If Rollins does return from injury as a babyface, there's scope for the ROH rivalry to continue. For those fans lucky enough to be in attendance for Seth's WWE Title defences against Owens and Ambrose, it must have been cool to see a true independent dream match feature in WWE.
