5 Reasons Neville Wants To Quit WWE

4. The Bizarre Burial/Elevation Of Enzo Amore

One of the weirdest storylines WWE has presented in years, the simultaneous burial and elevation of Enzo Amore, is petty, surreal, counterproductive - and, ultimately, disastrous.

Enzo Amore was demoted to 205 Live, having annoyed essentially every member of the roster as a result of his lax attitude to the business and his unearned sense of entitlement. In a fit of fourth wall fissure, WWE even acknowledged this on television. This cast the show as a failure. Given that Neville poured his heart and soul into making it a success - the most thankless task imaginable, even in the anti-meritocracy that is WWE - this had to have p*ssed him off royally, pun intended. Enzo Amore was handed Neville's crown as a punishment, not a reward. WWE committed regicide purely to put another performer in their place, itself another dubious development.

Neville's Kingdom devolved into a detention classroom for the company brat. The line between the work and the shoot is a fine one. Life has now imitated art after art imitated life, and it's perhaps no wonder Neville, one of the most progressive talents on the roster, has tired of the utterly backwards logic.
