They say no WWE bridge can ever truly be burnt to the ground, as the returns of Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hart and more have shown over the years. The internet wrestling rumour mill is in overdrive, with the latest big name rumoured to making his return to the 'E is none other than Jeff Hardy.

Hardy to WWE rumours do seem to come up every couple of years, but this time there seems to be some fire behind the smoke regarding the two-time World Heavyweight Champion and his return.

Hardy left the company in 2009, ostensibly to heal up from injuries he had accrued over the previous 16 years of risk-taking and reckless bumping. Some expected Hardy to return after a few months, but six months later he would turn up in TNA Wrestling, where he has stayed until today.

Hardy's time in TNA has been a roller-coaster to say the least, with whatever positives there have been swallowed up by his well-documented personal issues and substance problems (from which he seems to have recovered from).

WWE have in the past been reluctant to negotiate with Jeff, due to these and other issues, but with him on the straight and narrow many believe that the time might be right for a return to the big time. I couldn't agree more, and here I will give five reasons why the time is right to see the Charismatic Enigma back in a WWE ring.

5. WWE Desperately Needs Fresh Babyfaces

This has been an issue for WWE for a while now, in that credible babyfaces that are about to break into the main event are hard to come by. In fact, a lot of WWE's midcard babyfaces are far better off as heels anyway.

Jeff Hardy is one of those rare beasts in professional wrestling, a performer who is a natural babyface and almost always miscast when put in the role of a heel. His style, his charisma, his in-ring moveset and pretty much everything about him implores the WWE Universe to get behind him.

This is an undeniably unique characteristic in modern day professional wrestling. Looking at the babyfaces on the WWE roster, it is hard to argue that most of them excel in the bad guy role. Cesaro, Reigns, Ambrose, Ziggler and more all seem to be heels pushed into the role of the babyface.

Jeff Hardy would provide a natural babyface character that the roster needs, with only Neville arguably filling this hole at the moment.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
