5 Reasons WWE Raw's Ratings Are Down

OK, it's rant time.

This past Monday, WWE posted a record-low rating average of 2.35 million viewers across the show's three-hour span. That's 12% down from last week, and trumps the previous record-holding 9 July episode that pulled 2.46 million. Why is this happening, and how can WWE fix it?

Here's the shocker: they don't need to. Yes, it's worrying that ratings are down for the promotion's flagship, but there's probably less emphasis internally on ratings than ever before. Only a fool would claim that WWE aren't doing well financially. Business is actually up in most other areas (licensing, merchandise etc), so why would they start panicking about a few crap numbers that come in on Tuesday mornings?

That's besides the point. Even if WWE don't worry too much about ratings, it must be cause for concern that they've broken their own record low twice in 2018. Before looking at how they can rectify that, they need someone who watches weekly to analyse the current product and examine why, despite often solid matches and some worthwhile performers, the viewership has taken a nosedive...
