5. These Placeholder Storylines All End

I am honestly struggling to think of a time in WWE when so many of the TV angles were so… what’s the word… dribbly… trivial… gaunt… s**t?

Absolutely nobody on the planet earth is tuning in to see the next exciting chapter in the Bryan vs Cass story, or the next exciting twist in Carmella’s Honky Tonk angle with Asuka. I have been employed by my friends not to talk about the Sammi Zayn Bobby Lasley story because it only makes me sad.

I know this is always a weird time for the company because so many feuds get properly wrapped up at Mania in April, and they need things to keep us ticking over until SummerSlam in August, but both brands are crying out for a hard reset now.

Of the 8 matches on the card that aren’t briefcase matches, I reckon all but Nia vs Rhonda - which I’ll get to in a bit - needs to have a solid, definite conclusion. Just finish it and let everyone involved move onto some thing better.

Although there’s one match in particular that needs some additional consideration.
