Peering out introspectively from across a pier, Becky recounts how as a teenager, she had absolutely no direction whatsoever. "When I was 15, there was never anything I was passionate about," she admits. Restless and with no real objective in mind, the Limerick lass decided simply to get fit as an outlet for her energy.

Being an "unconventional kid", the gym had no appeal to Becky, so she set her sights - or her feet - on kickboxing. It was only when her brother found out about Fergal 'Finn Bálor' Devitt's training school in Bray that she got the taste for wrestling. In her words, she was "god awful" - but she absolutely loved it. The biz had sunk its tendrils into yet another victim.
