5 Title Changes That Happened At WWE SummerSlam 2017

WWE SummerSlam 2017 was a marathon event. With 13 matches spread across a gargantuan six-hour runtime, it allowed plenty of scope for huge, game-changing moments, and while the night had plenty of ups and downs, it wasn't short of talking points.

Eight of SummerSlam's 13 matches were title fights. The Intercontinental Championship was the only main roster belt omitted from the card, and while a number of title-holders walked in as heavy favourites, only Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, and Jinder Mahal were able to mount successful defences.

If we remove the frequently hot-shotted Hardcore Title from the equation, it was only the third time in WWE history that five belts have changed hands on a single pay-per-view. Perhaps the company were shuffling the deck ahead of the rumoured Superstar Shake-Up, or maybe they were just out of ideas for the (now) former champs. Either way, let's explore each title change...

5. Neville Regains The Cruiserweight Championship

Six days after Akira Tozawa put an end to his eight-month WWE Cruiserweight Title reign on last week's Raw, Neville regained the big purple belt with his Red Arrow finisher, leaving him at 2-1 in singles matches with the Japanese star.
