5 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 22)

The naughty and nice list for Christmas Raw 2014.

Fasten your seatbelts for an episode of Raw Is Festive, where mortal enemies hit each other with empty gift-wrapped boxes, Divas dress in skimpy holiday outfits and some WWE Legend plays Santa Claus. If ever there was a paint-by-numbers episode of Raw each year, this would be it. WWE is in the €œjet circling the airport waiting for an open runway€ part of the year, where there isn€™t a lot of progress with storylines, yet there€™s still several hours of programming to fill. Thus, we are €œgifted€ with whatever matches the crack writing team can produce. Sometimes, it€™s pure entertainment €“ the writers have thrown three or four really long matches between solid wrestlers out there to eat up time in between sketches €“ and other times it€™s so brutal that no amount of eggnog can smooth it over. Monday night€™s Raw was somewhere in the middle of the mess of holiday Raws, not as brutal as it could be, but nothing that any person deciding they had presents to wrap instead would be upset that they missed. Fans were treated to a couple decent matches, a couple of WWE Hall of Famers and thankfully a live Raw. Believe it or not, that€™s a big deal, as the canned heat for a holiday Raw can be agonizing as the post-production guys try to drown out the apathy with fake cheers. So let€™s get to the naughty and nice lists for Christmas Raw 2014.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
