5 WWE Hard Man Reputations That Were Completely Exposed

'Survive if I let you'? Okay Tazz, whatever you say...

Let's get this clear right at the beginning: anyone who wrestles night in and night out, taking bumps and other types of unnatural punishment, has got to be tough or at least have a very high tolerance of pain. It's an old cliche but it bears repeating: wrestling ain't ballet. The possibility of getting hurt during a match is always there. Just look at last night's Night of Champions show. Sting, a man who has avoided serious injury during his decades long career, suffered what is thought to have been a potentially career-ending injury on a routine corner bump. Sting is not considered one of wrestling's 'tough guys', but he has been putting his body through hill for years. But wrestling is (or was) full of legit hard men, those who you would fancy in a fight or a riot situation. It makes sense that if you were going to enter a business like wrestling that you'd at least be able to handle yourself if things turned ugly in the ring or backstage. Backstage fights were commonplace in times gone by, so it helped if you knew how to throw (and take) a punch or choke a guy out. For ever genuine hard man, however, there is another who is simply a pretender, someone who is all smoke and mirrors. When push came to shove, these guys were simply exposed as being nowhere near as tough as they would like the world to believe they were.
