6 Best WWE Pay-Per-View Segments

5. The New World Order Arrive (No Way Out 2002)

Let's get the obvious criticism about this segment out of the way right off the bat: it came about a year too late. If Vince McMahon really wanted the New World Order to make an impact in the WWE, he should have loosened the purse-strings and brought them in way earlier.

At the time, however, this felt pretty huge. Hogan, Nash and Hall in a WWE ring, wearing the colours of the nWo, was a sight many of us were convinced we'd never see. The possibilities seemed endless: Hogan versus Rock, Hogan versus Austin, the nWo versus the entire roster.

Much of this promise, it has to be said, also dissipated when the Hulkster finished cutting his promo. Instead of declaring war on the World Wrestling Federation, he sheepishly told fans that he and his cronies came in peace - which ran counter to everything they were supposed to stand for.

As such, it's fair to say that this was - as well as being a ground-shaking wrestling moment - a missed opportunity. It's best to appreciate it for what it is: a pre-cursor to Hogan's iconic showdown with The Great One at WrestleMania X-8 - simply, the most electrifying match in sports entertainment history.
