6 Reasons John Cena Will Retire From WWE Within 5 Years

Due to injuries and an acting career, Cena may be done in WWE soon and here's why.

The future of John Cena is something that WWE has to be thinking about on a regular basis because he's their most important employee. Cena's a 15 time WWE World Champion that has been a top guy for the past decade. Cena wasn't a guy that took ten years to make it to the top. He started on the main roster in 2002 and within three years he won the WWE Title on his way to become a permanent fixture at the top of the card. Cena's at a point in his career where he's closer to the end than he is to the beginning. His decade long run as a top guy is longer than most guys and if he does it for another five years he'll have a run on top that is only topped by Bruno Sammartino, which was in a completely different era. The role of Cena going forward is going to be very telling because it doesn't seem like WWE is going to book him like an older wrestler that loses once in a while due to the fact that he's older. He's not going to be like Chris Jericho. He's going to be more like how Triple H was booked in his last few years as a full timer where he won most of his matches. What about five years from now? Nobody knows what the wrestling business will be like in five years. Guys like Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt weren't on the main WWE roster five years ago yet they're four men that WWE wants to build around. In five years there might be five other guys that we don't know right now. Cena's role in five years is going to be different too. He might be retired or close to it just because of the wear and tear of the wrestling business. With reports of Cena dealing with injuries these days and more acting roles landing in his lap, here's a look at why WWE's franchise player will retire in five years.
