6 Ups & 1 Down From Last Night's WWE NXT (Apr 18)

Downs...

1. Is This A Joke?

Kona Reeves Face
WWE Network

Though he's been part of WWE's development ecosystem since 2014, Hawaiian grappler Kona Reeves hasn't appeared on NXT television since last April. No more than an enhancement talent, his last match was a two minute squash at Hideo Itami's hands, but he vanished into the ether soon after, only to re-emerge last night.

Kona's getting a full on repackaging. Fair play for working towards a full-time TV role, and good luck to him, but the vignette wasn't good.

The YouTube thumbnail is a fair reflection of the impression Reeves left. Look at that face...

Calling himself 'The Finest,' Kona unfortunately came off as anything but. The facial expressions were goofy, the lines were delivered like a man trying too hard to convince his audience he believes what he's saying, and while it'd be wrong to write him off before he even re-debuts, the promo didn't work.
