6 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's Impact Wrestling (May 17)

Injury update on Brian Cage, first ever Demon Collar Match, local competitor decimated, and more...

Impact Wrestling

After last week provided a mixed episode of Impact, this week's instalment proved to be slightly better in comparison. For starters, the Demon Collar Match between Rosemary and Su Yung was brilliant for the most part, and appears to mark the start of the next chapter for both women. Regardless of whether or not they're continuing the rivalry (it looks as if they are), the match proved to be one of the best moments from the whole evening.

In the night's main event, Michael Elgin suffered a disqualification loss against Rich Swann after he shoved the official. Did this stop Big Mike from being the last man standing after the bell? Of course not. He and Johnny Impact seemingly united to take down Swann and Willie Mack as the show faded to black, putting their recent history behind them with a common enemy now found.

Unfortunately, the bad moments from this episode were really something else. We had a match made for next week's Impact between Rob Van Dam and Tommy Dreamer despite the fact that it's 2019, and we had Glenn Gilbertti winning a knockouts battle royal by lastly eliminating Tessa Blanchard. While the good sections of the show certainly outweighed the bad, these terrible moments certainly left a bad taste in your mouth.

We'll just have to hope that a) matches solely featuring stars of the past don't become a regular occurrence, and b) Glenn Gilbertti gets exactly what's coming to him. Let's get to it...
