Out of the gate Monday night, it looked like Raw was going to be an easy “up” overall, as the show charged ahead with Alexa Bliss bragging about her heist at Money in the Bank on Sunday. Throw in Ronda Rousey and you have a recipe for a great show.

We got a pretty good Intercontinental Championship match that gave us a title change on free TV too.

But the wheels came off somewhat as Raw wore on, with Chad Gable losing, Roman Reigns still babbling, and the writers flubbing easy angles once again. It’s becoming a theme: Raw can be good for about 90 minutes, but everything outside that time window is a crapshoot at best.

Raw certainly was watchable, and after an eventful Money in the Bank, viewing Raw typically is must-see TV. Despite the low points, Raw overall was entertaining and produced an enjoyable show. And with a new IC champ and a #1 contender’s match for the Universal Championship announced, it certainly was an eventful episode.

WWE laid out some possible new angles Monday, but it remains to be seen whether the writers follow through or if they get glossed over in the coming weeks.

With that said, let’s find out what gelled. Let’s get to it…

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
