On the heels of an Extreme Rules PPV where the wrestling was largely good, WWE brought another “meh” episode of Raw Monday night that didn’t offend, but also didn’t set the world on fire.

The highlight of the night of course were the dueling promos and interaction between Samoa Joe and Paul Heyman. These two set the tone masterfully and turned what originally was thought of as a speedbump of a feud into something that should be must-see TV each week, especially if Brock Lesnar is showing up and being unleashed.

A night removed from Extreme Rules, WWE managed to hit the reset on a few champions, moving Alexa Bliss onto Nia Jax (with a couple strange hangers-on), and Cesaro & Sheamus on to squashing other teams, and Neville on to his former “protégé” in TJP. Miz tried to move on, but his paranoia got the best of him.

But we still saw Kalisto, Apollo Crews and Titus O’Neil doing their strange dance again. We heard the most godawful PPV name repeated a dozen times. We suspended our disbelief about a women’s wrestling icon. And we were left to question why a supposed terrifying villain always seems to lose big matches.

With that said let’s find out what choked out the competition and what got speared into oblivion. Let’s get to it…
