After an eventful Raw that featured the reformation of D-Generation X and the un-retirement of Shawn Michaels, WWE was going to be hard-pressed to top it in terms of news-worthiness this week.

Spoiler alert: They didn’t.

WWE made news for all the wrong reasons during the past week with their planned trip to Saudi Arabia drawing some attention because of a looming international incident, but it seems like all signs are pointed toward the PPV moving ahead. Matches were copiously referenced on Monday, as WWE plugged both Crown Jewel and Evolution.

Women got a few moments to shine Monday night, with Ronda Rousey really standing out by verbally abusing the Bella Twins. The physical abuse will have to wait another week-plus, however. Hall-of-Famers Lita and Trish Stratus returned to spar with Alexa Bliss and Mickie James. And we learned that the rest of the women will be scooped up into a battle royal, which thankfully will have a title shot attached to it.

The main angle throughout Raw focused on whether Dean Ambrose would finally turn on his Shield brethren, but things took a surprising turn by the end of the night, as one of the trios dominating Raw apparently imploded.

With that said, let’s look at what stood tall like Rocky Balboa and what fell flat like Tommy Gunn. Let’s get to it…
