6 WWE Gimmicks You Didn't Realise Died Horrible Deaths

There have been many failed gimmicks in the history of WWE. We remember them, we laugh about them and we quickly forget about them. Any time you're in the business of pro wresting you're going to have failures just as often as the successes. For every Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock there's a Mordecai and Friar Ferguson. That's just how it is. What's interesting about WWE ending gimmicks is sometimes they simply let them fade away and act as if they never happened. There are times when characters lose matches that see them leave the company or some even lose retirement matches. Those are noble ways to go out. It's not always like that. The interesting thing about some of these gimmicks that ended up dying are that there were instances where they characters that were played by some of the biggest names in wrestling history. You wouldn't think, but that's exactly what happens. A big reason for that is because fans are used to seeing these performers in their customary roles and if we see them doing something else other than their usual routine it just feels wrong. Here's a look at some of the gimmicks in WWE history that ended up dying a decisive death for one reason or another.
