7 Awesome Wrestling Podcasts You Can't Believe Got Axed

The Magnificent Seven.

With so many wrestling podcasts available at our fingertips today, it's hard to believe there was ever a time when the medium was virtually untapped. What's more, there are a number of awesome wrestling related shows no longer gracing the airwaves, as well.

While that may be a good thing in some instances - the market is severely overcrowded at this stage - there were a handful of podcasts that made a huge mark during their tenure. In fact, some shows were destination audio every single week, and made for an excellent addition to the wrestling fan's listening schedule.

From WWE Hall of Famers to former World Champions, with a couple of wise-cracking up and comers in between, some of the shows that no longer exist were - and still are - audio gold, at times, and would make a great addition to any podcasting network worth its salt today.

Although the world of audio-on-demand is bursting with wrestling content at present, this list proves that there's always room for a couple more - especially if any of these lucky seven could lace up the proverbial podcasting boots once more.

7. Who's Next - Bill Goldberg

Bill Goldberg often comes across as a very private individual. Much like Brock Lesnar, WCW's iconic superstar is often fiercely media-shy and rarely opens himself up to the public for interaction. However, that wasn't the case in 2014, when he began his own podcast on PodcastOne entitled Who's Next with Goldberg.

While a lot of his guests were from the wide world of North American sports - most commonly those from the NFL, MLB and Nascar - Goldberg didn't completely forget what brought him to the dance, and regularly used to answer bundles of wrestling questions. Furthermore, he did occasionally dip into his wrestling Rolodex for interviews with the likes of Ken 'Kennedy' Anderson, 'Diamond' Dallas Page and Edge.

Meanwhile, Goldberg's forays into the world of MMA also saw him welcome on legendary guests from UFC, including Royce Gracie, Rampage Jackson, Frank Shamrock, Randy Couture and Don Frye. The show also featured interviews with wrestling/MMA hybrids like Mauro Ranallo, Josh Barnett and King Mo.

While the podcast was a great window into US action sports, there wasn't quite enough wrestling content to keep the wrestling fan hooked. Considering Goldberg was a World Heavyweight Champion in both WCW and WWE, wrestling was always an afterthought.

Nevertheless, when the topic of wrestling was on the agenda, the insight was always interesting.
