6. What's Going On With Jeff Jarrett?

As per GFW's official statement, Jeff Jarrett was placed on his leave of absence to focus on personal matters. This is ambiguous, and while Double J's private life is nobody's business but his own, there may be more at play than first though.

It has been reported that while Anthem were upset with Jarrett's supposedly "erratic behaviour," creative differences were the real driving force behind the move. This is surprising, as the critical response to Jarrett's team's work has been largely positive, but Anthem head honcho Ed Nordholm has little experience in the wrestling industry. Perhaps he doesn't see what the fans see.

There were also reports back in April that Jeff and his wife Karen got involved in a screaming match with long-time Impact executive Bob Ryder at a set of tapings. A botched hotel room booking was said to be the crux of the argument, though Ryder quickly rubbished the speculation:-

Bob's word shouldn't be taken as gospel, as he obviously wouldn't compromise the company's public image by confirming a backstage fight. Regardless, the PWI states that this was the beginning of the events leading to Jarrett's LOA, though we may never know the full story.
