WWE's newest season of Tough Enough is nearing and many applicants are standing out as potentials to be on the show. Others are not, like those highlighted on this list of mostly parody submissions.

Independent wrestlers might see this process as an opportunity. WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion on the planet and this reality show is a vehicle to bring talent to the grand stage. If someone has the training and is currently wrestling then it makes sense to submit a video in hopes of attracting wanted attention.

The following seven videos are by people who are currently working in independent promotions. Whether they've been wrestling for one year or more than a decade, their independent status is the common theme.

WWE will be bringing people onto Tough Enough from various backgrounds but current independent wrestlers should be heavily favored. The following wrestlers all have something to offer WWE and they sell themselves well in 60 seconds or less.

Several of these videos have already been featured on WWE's official Tough Enough site. It is good that they are on the radar and just might find their way onto the show. Even if they do not, hopefully all of these independent wrestlers can at least use whatever promotion this process offers them to their advantage.

7. Mike Hayes

Mike Hayes has a background that makes him babyface for life. He joined the Army out of high school but would later fall victim to an IED attack while serving in Iraq. He was the only survivor. One of his legs was amputated and he endured 18 months of physical therapy before returning home.

Not only did Hayes learn how to live with his difficult circumstance, he thrived. He amazed doctors as he resumed an athletic lifestyle that carried him all the way to the storied wrestling rings of Louisville, Kentucky.

Nick Dinsmore trained Mike, who debuted in OVW in 2011. Mike has become a champion in that promotion, holding the Southern Tag Team Titles, Television Title, and has even recently challenged several times for the OVW Heavyweight Title.

WWE does seem to have caught notice of Mike because clips of his video submission have aired on a recent episode of Smackdown. Will they give him a chance and bring him on the show?
