7 Major Mistakes WWE Has Made With Brock Lesnar

4. No Televised Title Defenses

When Brock Lesnar re-signed with WWE in 2012, his presence was designed to help boost ratings and PPV buys. Put a Brock match on a B-show, and it should help increase PPV numbers.

But now with the WWE Network, the PPV model has completely changed. The company no longer is chasing PPV buys, so putting a Lesnar title defense on Great Balls of Fire (uggh) or No Mercy was kind of meaningless.

However, wouldn’t having Brock defend the Universal Championship on Raw have boosted ratings? Imagine Lesnar defending the strap against Braun on a September episode of Raw instead of at No Mercy? With a week’s notice and build, that could have popped a decent rating.

When you talk about missed opportunities, that just feels like one that stands out.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
