7 Mistakes The Authority Has Made In Their First Year

A look at WWE's power couple and the storyline mistakes that haven't been "best for business".

It's been one year since The Authority became a regular feature on WWE television. The husband and wife duo of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have used The Authority as their name since the night after SummerSlam last year on August 19. While the group's name is specifically for the WWE power couple, they've had a number of associates in the last year too. Wrestlers like Randy Orton, Kane, Batista and Seth Rollins have been a part of it while management types like Brad Maddox and Vickie Guerrero had an association with them as well. They also had Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose involved when The Shield were still heels last year and Hunter's New Age Outlaw buddies Road Dogg & Billy Gunn were part of The Authority too. Even retired WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels has been involved too, as well as a corrupt ref in Scott Armstrong. The dominance of The Authority as the main WWE heel stable has dominated television (mainly Raw) in the last year. There have been so many in-ring promos by Hunter and Stephanie that when they don't get one or two promo segments in a show it's actually a surprise. That's not a knock on them. They are both good heels. It's just that they're on television too much and it's at the expense of some of the talent that could benefit from the TV time. Plus, how many times can you really say "best for business" in a year? Enough already. The Authority is a dominant heel force that isn't going away any time soon. All we can hope for is they can avoid some of the mistakes and missteps they've done in the last year. Here's a look at them.
