7. Roster Size And Depth

Simple logistics suggest that moving Asuka to SmackDown Live made the most sense. RAW currently has nine active female competitors in comparison to SmackDown’s six. Paige is also about to return from injury, meaning the flagship show won’t be far from having a division twice the size of its blue alternative.

WWE will have to outdo itself to make Asuka look like just another performer, but there is a chance that she will be lost in the shuffle on RAW. Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks, Nia Jax, and the currently injured Bayley have all struggled to make the division their own over the last few months, with current RAW Women’s Champion Bliss having the most success. Will Asuka just steamroll them?

The lower reaches of RAW’s women’s roster don’t exactly make for exciting viewing either. We’ve seen Asuka demolish Dana Brooke and Emma before, do we need to see it again? SmackDown’s roster is simply better set up for the 'Empress of Tomorrow'.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
