It's been a great while since tag team wrestling meant something in WWE, and it didn't help that the company broke up several tandems in the 2019 Superstar Shake-up. The Bar, Bobby Roode & Chad Gable, and SAnitY were among the casualties, just to name a few.

Once The Hardy Boyz went down with an injury, SmackDown Live brought back Daniel Bryan after a one month hiatus from WWE TV and paired him back up with Rowan to fill the void. They won the SmacKDown Tag Team Championship by beating The Usos, but failed to do much of note as champions early on.

It wasn't until they started to settle into their recent rivalry with Heavy Machinery that it became clear Bryan was determined to make the tag team division matter again. It's no secret that Bryan is a big proponent of restoring importance to any title he holds, and so far, the SmackDown Tag Team Championship has been no different. He was adamant about stealing the show with Heavy Machinery at Stomping Grounds, and sure enough, he did just that.

More tandems in each division would be nice, but for now, at least we can enjoy Bryan attempting to elevate Heavy Machinery and The New Day to the best of his ability. It's an admirable goal that more fans should take notice of.
