Time to push Owens to the moon.

A few years ago, it seemed that Kevin Steen would never make it into WWE. Indy fans loved him, but he didn’t resemble someone that Vince McMahon would go for. He lacked the height and distinguished features that turns heads in airports, which is something the boss has always highly appreciated.

Not only was the indy veteran signed by the company, but he was given a big push in NXT upon his arrival, quickly capturing the title and moving up to the main roster to defeat John Cena is his first match. It was an incredible rush. While his push quickly cooled after the Cena feud ran its course, he’s been positioned as one of the biggest players in WWE over the past few months.

While it’s gratifying to see, it’s not quite enough. Right now, Owens should have the company built around him; more so than anyone else.

Just last week I made the case for why I think he’s a terrible heel, and I'm not trolling here! Really, I'm not! I feel his failure as a bad guy is what would make him so effective as a face. He could be successful as a heel for years to come, or they could turn him soon and potentially start making some real money with him.

WWE desperately needs a hero during these troubled times, and Owens could be that man. It’s at least worth a shot. Here are seven reasons why WWE should build around him.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
