7 Things That Ruined Ryback's WWE Push

How the next Goldberg ended up in mid-card obscurity.

In 2010, Ryan Reeves was Skip Sheffield, who was the powerhouse of The Nexus stable, which had a promising future in WWE. In 2012, Reeves was given the name Ryback, and he quickly became one of the most heavily-pushed wrestlers on the WWE roster. He would squash smaller opponents, take on two or three opponents at once, and demolished everyone who got in his way. This stemmed from an earlier rumor from 2010 or so, when it was believed that Vince McMahon saw something in Mr. Reeves. Vince believed that he could be WWE€™s #2 man, as an unstoppable monster; essentially WWE€™s answer to Goldberg (more on him later) Fast forward two years later, where is our friend Ryback? Currently sidelined following a hernia surgery. But before that happened, Mr. Reeves was jobbing to other tag teams alongside Curtis Axel. How did this happen? How can one that was once so popular and had so much momentum, fall so far from glory? This article will propose seven possible reasons for Ryback€™s fall from grace in the last year and a half or so. Hopefully, when Ryback returns from injury, maybe he can get his career turned around, and possibly reclaim his former status, instead of being stuck in mid-card purgatory.
