Whilst WWE doesn't officially have a season ending special or anything like that, WrestleMania is the symbolic end of a major cycle for the biggest professional wrestling promotion on the planet. For men and women looking to bow out there is no greater stage, and the history of WrestleMania is the history of iconic moments and significant events never to be repeated.
The word 'never' has a different meaning in pro wresting than in most other industries, but WWE's current obsession with part time performers suggests there are a number of images we could truly see for the final time at WrestleMania 33.
The 'Show of Shows' is always a big deal, but this year will see a number of endings that will make it just that little bit more special.
At WrestleMania 33 John Cena and Nikki Bella will team up to take on The Miz and Maryse in a mixed tag team match, a Total Divas-inspired battle between the poster couple of the company and a married couple who feel they have been slighted. The match is likely to end with Cena on a knee and Nikki crying tears of joy.
This is going to be the final stand for women being used in major storylines as objects as opposed to subjects. The improvements in the way women are presented in WWE means that the days of cat fights and romantic obsession are slowly being eschewed in favour of legitimate competition and integrity, most definitely for the better.
It is hard to imagine WWE moving forward with mixed tag team matches. We may well see mixed tag team matches on television but this will be the final time such a bout is booked on pay-per-view.
