7 Things You Only Learn From Attending WWE Live

7. Some Matches Are Weird Without Commentary

There's no Michael Cole or Tom Phillips to guide viewers through the action for one.

When this writer attended a house show in Glasgow, Scotland, he spent a fair few minutes giggling at a friend's surprise. They were legitimately stunned that Cole, Corey Graves and Renee Young weren't camped out at ringside, and even more shocked to learn that the announcing they're so used to on television isn't piped through the in-house PA.

To anyone who's seasoned enough to have attended a fair few house shows, this must seem ridiculous. Why would the comms be pumped out to the live audience? Also, why would Cole and pals attend non-televised live events in the first place? To said friend, it semi-spoiled the show.

They found it harder to get invested in the matches (specifically when Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles traded one of those 'Fight Forever' punch trade offs), and didn't much care for select fans adding their own distinct brand of narration. In other words, they wanted to be held by the hand and told what to think of each character's motivations.
