7 Things You Should Know About WWE Royal Rumble 2002

4. It Was The Longest Rumble Match With 30 Entrants

There were two minute intervals for the Rumble match after changing the time around in previous years. Here are some interesting notes about it: - The Hurricane had a hilarious moment during his short run in the match. He was mostly a comedy wrestler, but he was still a very good in-ring performer. He did a spot where he looked like he was going to give a double chokeslam to Austin and Triple H. Then they looked at him like "who the hell are you?" and together they tossed him out. Great comedy spot within the match. - Mr. Perfect made his WWE return after leaving in the mid-1990s to go to WCW. It was great to see him back in a WWE ring where he belonged. Sadly, he was fired four months later and then passed away about a year after this match. - Booker T was the last entrant. He walked in, tossed out RVD who had received a Pedigree. Then Booker did a Spinarooni like a dumbass, so Austin gave him a Stunner to eliminate him. It was a short Rumble debut for Booker. - The final four men in the match were Austin, Angle, Mr. Perfect and Triple H. That might be the greatest final four grouping in the history of the Rumble. Perfect was booked strong in his WWE return while the other three were truly top guys in WWE at the time. - Austin lasted the longest in the match with a time of 26:46. He tied Undertaker with the most eliminations with both guys tossing out 7 guys. - This was the longest Rumble match that had 30 entrants. It ran for 69:22. The 2011 Rumble with 40 entrants was the longest at 69:51.
