7 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Sep 1)

A new champion crowned, a return in the Knockouts division, and a proposal. What more do you need?

Eric Young impact champ
Impact Wrestling

This week's episode of Impact Wrestling had a lot to live up to. Not only was it reeling in the success of the past two weeks of Emergence, but they were also battling head to head with a special Tuesday night edition of NXT that had Finn Bálor, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and Adam Cole fighting over the vacant NXT Championship.

Did Impact let the pressure get to them? Of course not.

Instead, they produced yet another banger of an episode that culminated in the crowning of Eric Young as World Champion once again. His previous reign in 2014 wasn't anything too special, and felt as if the company were going down the underdog route to capitalise on the success of Daniel Bryan's rise to the top at WrestleMania XXX. Now though, it feels as if 'The World Class Maniac' is exactly where he belongs.

Elsewhere, Tenille Dashwood made her return to Impact for the first time in a few months, with the cast of Wrestle House heading back to the Impact Zone in the same segment. Additionally, The Rascalz earned an opportunity at the World Tag Team Championships, Moose received yet another warning from EC3, who remains in possession of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, and John E. Bravo proposed to Rosemary.

It was an odd episode in places to say the least. Let's get to it...
