Last night's women's 5-on-5 match finally presented Asuka in an appropriate light, with 'The Empress Of Tomorrow' running the closing stretches, eliminating Carmella, Tamina, and Natalya to secure victory for her brand.

Finally booked like the dangerous killer she was in NXT, Asuka shone. She was made to face Tamina and Nattie alone following Sasha Banks' elimination, but she was brutally effective, tapping both out in quick succession, and the crowd went nuts. Asuka looked like a bona fide star, proving that the 50/50 nature of her bouts with Emma were entirely destructive, and that this was the direction WWE should've taken all along.

'The Empress' was comfortably the best thing about this mess of a match. If WWE still believed in strong pushes, they'd have her continue down this path, buzzing her way through the rest of the women's division en route to a long, prosperous title reign. Instead, we'll likely get a dopey, go-nowhere feud with Alicia Fox or Dana Brooke. Still, let's enjoy the moment while we can...
