7 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Jan 8)
Braun destroys everything. And that's a good thing.
To say that WWE is on a roll would be a gross overstatement, but it’s fair to say that Monday Night Raw delivered another episode this week that continued a trend of inoffensive, breezy program (for a three-hour show).
For the longest time, Raw was borderline unwatchable, with bad angles, bad dialogue and bad writing, all unfolding over the course of three hours. It felt interminable. Other weeks, it was watchable at best.
But lately (Monday included), Raw has steered clear of major missteps, while offering a program that is overall entertaining. These episodes won’t make a “Best of Raw” list anytime soon, but it’s refreshing to watch Jason Jordan developing into a heel, whether inadvertently or deliberately, or Braun Strowman continuing to be a dominant force in WWE.
Monday, we saw Miz return to action, making a statement and then punctuating it. We saw Balor Club continue its winning ways together. We saw Bray Wyatt and Woken Matt Hardy continue their budding, weird feud. We also saw some questionable booking decisions that left this writer confused, whether it was who won a match, how it ended, or even why it was booked in the first place.
