7 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 24th)
WWE gives rowdy Brooklyn fans a geography lesson.
WWE ended three straight sold-out shows in Brooklyns Barclay Center on a high note Monday, delivering an episode of Raw that functioned more like a geography lesson. See, Raw emanated from Brooklyn in New York City, but fans were taken on a journey that included stops in Suplex City and Dudleyville, along with a visit from a couple legends. While it wasnt bad by any stretch, SummerSlam was a bit of a letdown after a stellar NXT Takeover: Brooklyn on Saturday night. SummerSlam was hampered by two messed-up finishes in the two main-event matches, with Jon Stewart interfering in the John Cena/Seth Rollins title-for-title match, and a comedy of errors leading to Undertaker finally toppling Brock Lesnar with a little help from an over-ambitious timekeeper, an obstructed view and a low blow. Fortunately for WWE, Raw managed to put things back on track with some strong promo work and then built upon that with a couple legitimate surprises that had fans jumping up and down out of their seats. Raw provided the kind of emotion and atmosphere that you wish it could muster each week. Plenty of things were constantly happening and there really wasnt a down period during the show. Unfortunately, that sort of momentum is tough to maintain, so there will be some slippage. But for now, its fair want to just enjoy the show. So lets see what styled and profiled, and what got knife-edge chopped. Lets get to it
