After last week’s barn-burner of an episode of Raw, you would have to expect that WWE’s flagship show would fall back to Earth a little bit Monday night. And you would be correct to assume that.

That doesn’t mean that Raw was disappointing this week, but it couldn’t quite keep up the momentum from recent weeks. Still, Monday Night Raw produced several good moments and kept the negatives mostly to minor issues, save for a few glaring instances.

We saw Neville and Jack Gallagher make the WWE Cruiserweight Championship look more like a title worth fighting over than it has since the Cruiserweight Classic ended in September. We saw Braun Strowman and Big Show tangle in a main event match that had to surprise most who saw it. And we saw Kevin Owens deliver a defining promo that had fans finally booing him as a heel champion.

We also saw more authority figure battles and more incessant, unnecessary crowd shots. And we saw the tag champs used as cannon fodder while the most dominant tag team of 2016 apparently won’t even be wrestling at WrestleMania XXXIII.

With that said, let’s find out what made the grade and what fell short Monday night. Let’s get to it…

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
