If you didnt think WWE was desperate to get its major stars back in action, look no further than to the graphics counting down to when John Cena returns. Throw in the rumored return of Seth Rollins the week after that, and you can almost see the Roman Empire coming to a close when its determined that ratings do much better with those guys around.

Raw brought us some dumb writing decisions Monday night, more than what weve seen recently. It feels like in some veins, no one has any idea how to write a compelling storyline, while in other veins, things look much more improved. So which is it?

WWE is enough right to get by, but with each passing week that the (Bullet) Club looks subservient to Roman Reigns and the Usos, then the less special they become. Charlotte is knocking it out of the park as a paranoid/delusional heel champion, but the most popular woman in WWE hasnt wrestled on TV in nearly a month. Big Cass is getting a chance to shine, but Enzo Amore is being left behind in the cold.

Lastly, Extreme Rules looks like Payback Redux with weapons. Five of the seven matches announced so far have opponents who faced each other at Payback. This could make for a good little PPV, but it could also be forgotten in no time flat. But first... WWE Raw.

So what set the table and what cleared it? Lets get to it

Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
