7 Wrestlers Who Really Didn’t Get Paid By The Hour

Moves and selling are over-rated anyway...

Anyone who has read The Wrestling Observer over the years will be familiar with the term 'work rate'. Designed to highlight those who can sell effectively, fly around the ring, bump hard and generally give their all during each and every match, work rate is a term often used to separate 'good' wrestlers from 'bad'.

At the risk of being controversial, a good level of work rate isn't always the be all and end all. There are those who have been able to carve brilliant careers for themselves by using a more limited move set. Hell, some of wrestling's biggest names even sprinted through matches like they couldn't wait to leave the ring.

Instead of being paid by the hour and putting on lengthy showcases that focused on selling and psychology, those favouring a more abrupt approach had only a few big moves (at best) and let promos and/or their bodies make them stars.
