Potential never realized on the main roster.

NXT: not quite the indies, not quite the main event - a half-way house for aspiring WWE Superstars on their way to the biggest stage of them all. Vinnie Mac’s third brand is meant to prep the superstars of tomorrow before they go on to bigger and better things.

Whilst many graduate to Raw and SmackDown with dreams of taking their career to the next level, there are some wrestlers who'll probably end up looking back on their runs in developmental as the apex of their WWE careers.

So, without further ado, here are seven WWE acts that peaked on NXT.

7. Titus O'Neil

It's fair to say the big man hasn't had much to brag about on the main roster. There's the 'millions of dollars' dance in a third tier tag team, and that strange seal noise he makes along with his patented pose. There's also that time he got real-life suspended for touching Vince McMahon. Memorable perhaps, but not for the right reasons.

But back in 2014, Titus had a short but successful stint in NXT. Paired with Neville and Sami Zayn, O'Neill was booked like a monster as Full Sail's finest bumped and flipped their hearts out to put him over. Sure, the NXT MVPs did most of the work, but it gave us a glimpse of what Titus could be if he was portrayed like a beast. These were easily some of his best matches and, unfortunately for him, the strongest booking he might ever receive. Since returning to the main roster he’s been relegated back to the undercard.

Fintan Monaghan hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
