When it comes to watching wrestling, who doesn't love to see their favourite superstar make a comeback? The pop that echoes around the arena when a returning star steps through the curtain is immense. Hearing the commentary team clamouring about how the moment changes the entire landscape of WWE at that present time is more enjoyable than the typical bickering with each other we've become used to.

In recent years, there have been some terrific returns from superstars both of the past and of the present that left the audience completely speechless. Whether it's a star on the shelf making a long-awaited comeback from injury or a legend re-emerging for one last run, the fans are sure to be on their feet in appreciation.

The first six months of 2018 have already seen a number of superstars make a return to the ring as the likes of Jeff Hardy, Drew McIntyre, and Bobby Lashley have all reentered the scene. While some of them may not have received the biggest homecoming cheer, it means that new faces have moved in to the ongoing stories.

With regards to the past ten years, there are too many significant comebacks to remember them all. The best ones however, will never be forgotten...

After Kurt Angle left Impact Wrestling in March 2016, the question on everyone's mind was whether or not he would be making a return to WWE. Although he had made his name there, it was uncertain if Kurt would be welcomed back in to the fold due to numerous run-ins with the police during his time away.

The announcement about his return to WWE initially came via ESPN in January of the following year, revealing Kurt as the headline star for the 2017 Hall of Fame class. Endless amounts of support flooded social media from fans, friends, and others within the industry. It was only a matter of time before the legend was given a permanent onscreen role as he was named the new general manager of Monday Night Raw.

Since his return, Angle has been a big success. While we may have not seen any of the dream matches we so desperately crave, Kurt has provided numerous moments that will be remembered when speaking about his career in the years that follow.

Let's hope we forget about the illegitimate son storyline though...
