Many wrestlers get into the business for one reason: the money. Being a top wrestler pays extremely well and WWE headliners earn millions of dollars per year. While the majority of wrestlers get into wrestling for the 'love of the business' and have a genuine passion for it, others simply see dollar signs.

Whatever the reasons for getting into the business, if a wrestler is lucky enough to be main eventing shows and has items of merchandise bearing his likeness for sale then the chances are he's going to be looking at a decent pay check come the end of the month. Yes, wrestling can be a lucrative profession for the chosen few who sit on top of the mountain. Most of them wouldn't batter their own bodies for peanuts. Wrestlers, an eccentric bunch of people at the best of times, have been known to spend this money very, very quickly. It's why so many continue to perform long past their sell-by date and into old age. They simply need to make back the money they spent so frivolously during their prime years.
