8 Legitimate Reasons Dean Ambrose Has To Be Unhappy With WWE

Bad comedy, WrestleMania relegations, and everything in between.

Dean Ambrose return
WWE

Dean Ambrose is on the verge of leaving WWE.

PWTorch broke the news this morning, claiming that the former WWE Champion had given his notice over Royal Rumble weekend. His current deal expires after WrestleMania 35. It's expected that he'll work through to the 7 April pay-per-view, but there's every chance the company could opt to write him out of storylines before then, and the news helps explain why his Rumble run was so listless.

Ambrose's frustrations run so deep that PWInsider are now reporting that Dean turned down a new 5-year, $5 million dollar WWE contract. The man just wants out. He has hit breaking point, and if the Torch are to be believed, longstanding dissatisfaction with his character's push and creative direction drove a decision that could see Ambrose walk away from the wrestling business entirely.

Though Ambrose's run hasn't been without its highs (the man was World Champion for three months, and The Shield are wrestling's greatest modern stable), his discontent is understandable. WWE have continually failed their 'Moral Compass' throughout his eight years with the company. Countless creative farces have befallen him during this time; adding them up, it's no wonder Ambrose is upset...

8. The Entire Bray Wyatt Feud

If Dean Ambrose does, indeed, "hate hokey sh*t," he must have loathed the time he spent working alongside WWE's master of hokey sh*t, Bray Wyatt, with whom 'The Lunatic Fringe' conducted a godawful programme towards 2014's end.

The storyline presented the worst versions of both characters. Wyatt's had long since jumped the shark, and his credibility had been undone by months of big pay-per-view losses. His nonsensical, breathy promos hadn't yet passed into "so bad, they're good" territory: they were just bad, and Dean's work opposite him was no better.

Ambrose was made to look like the biggest idiot in the world not only for losing to 'The Eater Of Worlds' thrice in a row, but for continually falling for the pantomime swamp-dweller's bullsh*t. Hell In A Cell 2014 saw Dean lose to Seth Rollins when Wyatt entranced the former Shield mastermind with a bloody ghost. At TLC 2014, Ambrose lost via exploding television. These are the most destructive, but the feud was full of other examples of Ambrose's character's stupidity, and he left it a shambles.

The zaniness didn't end with Wyatt, either...
