8 Minor Changes That Would Make A Major Difference To WWE Survivor Series 2017

8. A Kickoff Show Elimination Match

All WWE pay-per-views come with a one-hour Kickoff show to get the ball rolling. For the ‘Big Four’, this becomes a two-hour marathon as opposed to a 60 minute sprint, and it is fair to say that interest in the pre-shows is pretty minimal. Who really wants to see David Otunga giving insight into The Miz vs. Baron Corbin?

As of right now, the only match announced for the Survivor Series Kickoff show is Enzo Amore vs. Kalisto with the WWE Cruiserweight Championship on the line. The junior heavyweights won’t be putting on a 60-minute Broadway, unless the company wants to drive all viewers away from the show.

Survivor Series is traditionally an elimination match pay-per-view, and WWE should have booked such a bout on the Kickoff show. Not only would the match provide a lot more action for those who tune in, it would also provide a showcase for the many talents missing from the card.

A two-hour Kickoff show allows for more than just one match, so why not have two elimination bouts? One could have been a showcase for 205 Live, while the other would have contained the various spare parts of RAW and SmackDown. Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Chad Gable, Dolph Ziggler and the rest deserve better.
