8 Ridiculous Fines WWE Gave Wrestlers

7. A Freak Amount

There's no question whatsoever that Lars Sullivan deserved reprimand from WWE for his historic full trifecta of racist, sexist and homophobic comments, though the $100,000 fine seems a mite excessive given the comparatively lenient levies meted out to performers for arguably grave misdemeanours - whilst under contract, no less.

As a public facing company, Sullivan is effectively an ambassador tasked with enforcing their values. With sponsors getting wind of the outrage, WWE had to be seen to be doing something drastic, and The Freak's fine certainly accomplished that. Nobody could argue Lars has got off lightly for his past idiocy, and the company can now consider the matter settled.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
