8 Times WWE Completely Failed Dolph Ziggler

6. Giving Him A 'New & Improved' Look

If there's one thing that makes Dolph Ziggler instantly recognisable, it's that straggly, bleach-blonde hair. Being able to run his fingers through that hair before flicking his hands at fans gave Dolph a heel characteristic that was great for getting simple heat. Naturally, WWE decided to take that away from him in 2011.

Vickie Guerrero should have been embarrassed to unveil a "new and improved" Dolph Ziggler as one who had dyed his flashy hair brown and received a crew cut. This was probably Dolph's decision, but nothing in WWE happens without company say so. Someone (anyone) backstage should have curtailed this idea well before Ziggler even booked an appointment at his local barber.

If being "new and improved" meant looking like the generic mannequin that players of WWE video games are greeted with when creating a custom wrestler, then this was a success. That's tongue-in-cheek, of course, because all WWE achieved here was removing one of Ziggler's best assets.

Thank the good lord he reverted to blonde weeks later.
