8 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (June 19)

Downs...

2. The Land Of (Undeserved) Opportunity

Bludgeon Brothers Karl Anderson

Fans were given a rematch of the Bludgeon Brothers vs. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows SmackDown Tag Title clash last night, and while the bout wasn't bad itself, the booking raises a few eyebrows.

What sense is there in giving a defeated team an immediate second chance? Make them work for it. Gallows and Anderson only fell 48 hours prior, yet there they were, doing battle with Harper and Rowan once more, having done precisely nothing to earn another shot at glory.

It's not like Money In The Bank was particularly close, either: the Good Brothers went down in just seven minutes. They showed plenty of fight, but it was still a single-digit runtime. Perhaps a rematch would have been easier to buy into had they pushed the Bludgeons to the limit. They didn't, though. Anderson and Gallows were defeated routinely, and their undeserved second chance sends the message that these belts aren't worth striving for.
