The parade of WWE Network special events continued Wednesday with a heavily promoted, heavily hyped and seriously pumped-up NXT Takeover: Unstoppable. WWE has taken recently to paying a lot more than lip service to NXT, referencing it more and more often and featuring stars from the developmental territory. That is not by accident. Even WWEs brass gets it: NXT is one of the most popular programs on the Network, and the main company would be foolish to ignore it. In fact, quite the opposite should happen. So with WWE pushing another free month of the Network to new subscribers, NXT took center stage Wednesday. These quarterly special events for WWEs developmental territory have become must-see affairs for wrestling fans, as they blow off long-simmering issues and consistently deliver some of the best in-ring action youll find on television. Unstoppable was no different, with two hours breezing by and giving fans more than their moneys worth. The NXT PPV showcased several of the promotions top wrestlers, with some turning in star-making performances. There was no fluff, no nonsense. Although no titles changed hands, NXT managed to provide some surprises and made Unstoppable feel like a really special show.
